    Feels worth clarifying… the Biden admin isn’t going to do anything like this until reconciliation passes (or fails). There’s no reason for the WH to join a toothless international pledge about a target 19 years away if it means risking their best bet for near-term carbon cuts.

    The United States declined to join 30 countries who pledged at the climate summit to end sales of gas and diesel powered cars and SUVs by 2040

    🚨 The workers and management of POLITICO and E&E News have reached an agreement to voluntarily recognize the workers’ union, the PEN Guild. The workers appreciate the good faith negotiations that led to this agreement and look forward to continuing that spirit in contract talks.

    This seems like good news for Powell, no? Some progressives were concerned that if Powell was reappointed, then Quarles would stay too, limiting Biden’s ability to appoint Democrats to the Board. Quarles’ resignation seems to remove that concern.

    New: Fed Governor Randy Quarles, who was stripped of his regulatory and supervisory portfolio last month, will resign from the central bank "around the last week of December of this year." Leaves open another vacancy for Biden admin to fill as it weighs Fed chair and other picks
