Summer reading suggestions: hit me. Popular science, business, religion, really anything. Make it stimulating. Suggest anything US politics or China related and you might get blocked.

Remember how I keep telling you about how Chinese behavior and willingness to abide by agreements/follow the law are the crux of everything? Read this.....

One question I've gotten is to explain "yield inversion". So let's take a pop quiz. Yield inversion is: A. What Stormy and The Donald did B. Reason for the trade war C. Drink at Trump Towers Moscow D. Long term interest rates dropping below short term interest rates

China mentions the 90 days. This is interesting...

One thing I find so fascinating about the US China trade negotiations is that you have arguably the two biggest liars on the planet trying to make it seem like they are negotiating in good faith

I teach a Negotiations class. I have a short section on even if you win, even if they offer you $25k over what you hoped to get for a job offer, do not stand up on their desk and scream "TAKE THAT SUCKAS!!"

China has always had the ability to execute on any of these issues. It has simply chosen not to and that's why the agreement matters less than the willingness to execute. Done

After a few years in China I stopped paying attention to what people said and entirely on how they behaved. That was the tell. If they wanted something to happen they executed. If they didn't they were worse then hung over freshman for excuses. Execution is all that matters.

I don't care if Trump and China agreed to complete market access or they agreed to purchase nothing more than 5 ship loads of soy beans. It ALL comes down to execution. China has not followed through on really anything they have signed up in recent history, even under Trump 3/n

The ONLY question forever and always that ever needs to be answered about any contract signed in China or with a Chinese public entity is not even will they execute but how badly will they cheat. Why do you think absolutely nobody trusts Beijing or Chinese business? 2/n

I am seeing a lot of discussion about the Trump side confusion about what they agreed to with China and whether the US and Chinese sides agree about what they agreed to. This is another pointless discussion. Let me explain. I almost don't care what China agrees to 1/n

The Opium War was triggered by the British selling China opium because they refused to trade. The 2018 Trade War has China refusing to open their markets but now selling the US fentanyl. Discuss
