Applications

Administrative Systems has made significant investments in the Oracle E-Business Suite and PeopleSoft Campus Solutions enterprise applications. In addition to these core systems, Stanford has purchased several smaller applications and, in a few cases, developed customized, homegrown systems to fulfill the University's business needs (e.g., Authority Manager, WorkGroup Manager, SeRA, etc). This combined suite of applications provides an operational foundation for achieving the university's core mission of teaching, learning, and research.

  • Authority Manager is a web application that gives Stanford managers a central location for managing the systems authority their employees need to do their jobs.

  • Confluence (by Atlassian) is a wiki tool used by project and production support teams for collaborating on requirements, posting project or individual status, publishing  environment links, and much more.

  • The Faculty and Academic Staff Appointment (FASA) is an online integrated management system for academic appointments at Stanford. FASA tracks and automates the appointment approval process, and updates the faculty record database maintained by the Provost's Office.

  • Jira by Atlassian is the issue-tracking tool used by AS and our clients for tracking bugs, enhancements, tasks, and change requests related to both production support and new system development.

  • Nolij is a web-based document imaging and management solution used by departments to electronically collect, store, and manage business files online.

  • Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) is the next generation business intelligence system for enterprise reporting at Stanford.

  • Formerly known as Oracle Financials, Oracle e-Business Suite is a set of modules that address the central financial, accounting, purchasing, and asset management needs of the university.

  • Organization Manager is a web application that allows departments to supplement their official identity with contact and descriptive information. This supplemental information is used in OrgSearch (the online organization directory), and in the Annual Printed Directory.

  • Formerly known as PeopleSoft Student Administration (SA) and Human Resources (HR), PeopleSoft Campus Solutions is a set of modules that address the central student, faculty, and HR/personnel needs of the university.

  • ReportMart3 (RM3) is the web portal used for generating reports primarily from the Oracle Financials system at Stanford.

  • SALLIE (Stanford ALL-Image Exchange) is Stanford's implementation of Canto's digital asset management tool, Cumulus. SALLIE provides a campus-wide system for managing and sharing digital assets (photos, videos, and other files) used primarily for communications.

  • A web portal that enables external affiliates (e.g., postdoctoral applicants, foreign students requesting visa processing, etc.) to securely submit personal information to initiate business/administrative transactions with the University.

  • The Shared Scientific Facilities Management (SSFM) system is a web application that provides Stanford researchers and outside institutions a marketplace for scientific services and equipment available on campus.

  • The Stanford Electronic Research Administration System (SeRA) is an enterprise-wide system that supports research administration at Stanford.  SeRA tracks the various stages of the sponsored project lifecycle and is the institutional system of record for sponsored projects.

  • StanfordYou is the web application that allows Stanford community members to update their SUNet accounts (password, vacation auto reply, profile, and privacy settings) and contact information.

  • The Stanford Training and Registration System (STARS) is Stanford's implementation of PeopleSoft's Enterprise Learning Management System.

  • Unanet by Unanet Technologies is the AS project time tracking tool used to track actual time on external and internal projects.

  • Workgroup Manager is a web application that gives Stanford community members a place to define groups of community members for use in various online applications, including web authentication. Though the name "workgroup" may imply usefulness only to faculty or staff, workgroups can be helpful to, and maintained by, anyone with a current SUNet ID.
