Autopsies are performed on any Stanford University Medical Center patient, at no cost to the estate or survivors.
Autopsies are performed on patients who are veterans at no cost to the estate or survivors. Such patients need not have been in the VA Palo Alto Health Care System Hospital (VAPAHCS) at the time of death. To obtain an autopsy on a veteran patient who died outside of the VAPAHCS, contact:
