Alumni

Stanford graduates in Chemical Engineering go on to be leaders in a wide range of fields and occupations. Our alums are inventors and entrepreneurs, teachers and researchers, executives and astronauts. Most often, they find work in the chemical and energy industries, in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, electronic device fabrication and materials, and in environmental engineering.

Alumni also return to teach in the Department. One of our newest and most popular classes, Entrepreneurship in the Chemical Sciences, for example, is currently taught by alums Ricardo Levy and Howie Rosen.

Calling all alums

Let us know how your Stanford education has proven valuable — and what we could do to make our teaching of even greater relevance and value to your working lives.

All alumni are welcome to attend the public seminars and lectures that we regularly schedule on campus. We often hold activities for ChemE alumni to reconnect and will share them as they are planned. If you are interested in helping us organize or staff these events, please let us know—none of this can happen without support from alumni like you!

We love hearing from our alums. What are you up to these days? Send us a class note and you could be featured in a future ChemE newsletter. Give us a call and let’s talk about where you are, what you are doing, what did your education help you achieve and what would you do differently. Finding out more about our alumni and the impact of your Stanford University education on your career as well as what you would do differently helps us to improve our educational process and the impact on the future generations. We sincerely appreciate all that you do for your alma mater—Go Cardinal!

We are also asking alumni to help the department as we expand into new areas of research and for our new home in the Shriram Center for Bioengineering & Chemical Engineering Building. You can help shape our future by making a gift to the department’s Engineering Our Future Fund by designating your gift to Chemical  Engineering.
