Meet the Team

Green Living Coordinators

The Green Living Council is entirely student-run, and at the heart of the group are the student representatives who have been selected to work as Green Living Coordinators in their residences on campus. These environmental leaders work to educate their housemates on environmental issues and promote sustainable behaviors in everyday student life at Stanford. Their role includes a wide range of responsibilities, from organizing residential programming and activities to bringing sustainability-related concerns of their residents to the attention of the Council.

Leadership Team

An organization like the GLC could not run without the dedicated support of the student Leadership Team, which works to oversee all of the group's activities, recruit Green Living Coordinators, form partnerships with administrators and other student groups, and much more.

Sasha Brownsberger

Co-President

Sasha is a senior majoring in physics and mathematics. Growing up with the Coconino National Forest of Arizona as his back yard, Sasha has always felt a deep love of the world’s wild places. However as an aspiring physicist engaged in active astrophysics research, he is also both in awe of and greatly indebted to the wondrous accomplishments of modern civilization. He attempts to take a pragmatic approach to sustainability, and believes wholeheartedly that humanity can continue its truly remarkable pace of advancement without simultaneously destroying the world that makes such advancement possible. A difficult task, but he believes humanity is up to the challenge. During his rare moments of free time, Sasha loves to move, whether it’s climbing (rocks, tress, buildings, basketball hoops, etc), skiing (telemark), running, hiking, soccer, and kung fu.

Stephen Koo

Co-President

Stephen is a junior from the distant town of Palo Alto, CA, where the trees grow taller and the grass grows greener. There he was imbued with a sense of duty to preserve the beauty of our planet as it is for the future generations. As Carl Sagan once wrote, "the Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate... Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand." Stephen also loves exploring and playing music, one of the many artforms that attempt to capture the sublimity of our tiny world. His most recent obsessions include John Adams, Francis Poulenc, and Sergei Prokofiev.

Christina Luu

Chief Financial Officer

Christina is a sophomore with an interest in policy and economics. After devoting the bulk of her high school years advocating for sustainability and environmental awareness on campus, she became the Green Living Coordinator for the Asian-American Ethnic Themed Residence during her freshman year at Stanford. There, she helped implement the composting program and the Lights-Off SEED Project, as well as established an Eco-Hero of the Week recognition program to encourage sustainable behavior among the residents. She enjoys public service and savors the wonderful things in life, from people to food, tennis, sleep, smiles, and puns.

Isabelle Barnard

Green Living Pledge and Conservation Cup Director

Naomi Cornman

Publicity and Design Director

Naomi is a junior majoring in International Relations and French. She lived in Burbank her freshman year, where she worked on SEED projects to reduce paper towel usage and energy conservation. She lived in La Maison Française her sophomore year, and now staffs there. Her goal is to raise awareness among her peers to ignite the fight against global climate change, starting in our own community. She believes in the little things that make a big difference. She loves nature so much that she wakes up every morning to see the sunrise (also on Stanford Women's crew team, so that explains some things).

Andrea Martinez

Membership Co-Director and SEED Project Co-Director

Eileen Trieu

Campus Programming Director and Social Chair

Tori Bahe

Social Chair

Tori is a Junior staffing as a KM in Muwekma-Tah-Ruk. She hails from Gilbert, Arizona where she enjoys running early in the morning before the Arizona summer heat, baking at home and hanging out with friends. Tori is majoring in Earth Systems with a concentration in Ocean ecology such as awesome coral reef ecosystems. As a freshmen, Tori was one of the Green Living Coordinators at Otero and strove to implement composting in the dorm. She loves nature and wishes her fellow peers can experience the great outdoors, which is why she's the social chair, yay adventures!

Angela Kwok

Senior Green Living Guru

Angela is a senior majoring in Atmosphere and Energy Engineering, and a Coterm in Sustainable Design and Construction in Civil Engineering. Her ties and dedication to GLC are strong, having been Co-President and Campus Programming Director. During her three years as a leader of the group, she has gained much experience from organizing events and projects, as well as from collaborating with other leaders. GLC has become a part of her identity at Stanford and she would love to see GLC grow each year. While she's not serving a particular leadership role this year, she continues to be involved as a advisor to the group and as the Chair of GAIA, the umbrella organization for the sustainability student groups. Aside from GLC, Angela is also a member of the Stanford Archery team. She is passionate about environmental sustainability and enjoys motivating others to adopt green practices in everyday life. Her interests lie particularly in green buildings.

Graham Provost

Master Green Living Consultant

Graham is a senior majoring in Atmosphere and Energy Engineering and former co-president of GLC. He is dedicated to making his own life, Stanford, and the World more sustainable. Graham continues to be involved in sustainability on campus as financial officer for GAIA and Vice President of Appetite for Change.. His academic interests include renewable energy, climate science, environmental policy, math, and almost everything else.

William Greenbaum

Green Living Guru

William is now a Senior majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Physics and starting his fourth year in the GLC. He loves to be outdoors and tries his best to protect it. In terms of sustainability, he works by the idea that doing what is good for the environment is typically good for everything else (health, money, time, etc). He hopes other people will adopt this philosophy. After joining GLC as a freshman, William stepped up as a Residence Project Coordinator. Sophomore year he continued the project track as Course Coordinator and Head TA for Earth Systems 18. William collected all that he had learned into the GLC SEED program and spent last year building up the GLC as President.

Kevan Christensen

At Stanford he was President of the Green Living Council for three years and was also a member of Students for a Sustainable Stanford and Energy Crossroads.
