The Load Balancer service provides an extra measure of stability and redundancy for University systems and servers residing behind firewalls in the White (WOZ), Forsythe (FOZ), and core operational zones.
Clients are provided with their own load balancer partition on a shared F5 BIG-IP load balancer. Clients have the advantage of a professionally administered and maintained load balancer service without the overhead and expense of doing it themselves.
Features
- Able to remove servers from pools for maintenance without affecting the availability of a service.
- Distributes inbound traffic across multiple back-end destinations.
- Able to act as a proxy from the Internet to local private addresses.
