Over the past 28 years, Bonnie Eskenazi has handled some of Hollywood’s most high-profile and landmark entertainment disputes, representing plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of entertainment litigation matters, including motion picture and music profit participation and royalty disputes, copyright and music litigation, contract disputes, First Amendment issues, idea theft cases, defamation actions and trademark disputes. She has represented both talent (including Jeffrey Katzenberg, the Estate of JRR Tolkien, owners of Alvin and the Chipmunks, Hans Zimmer, owners of merchandising rights in Winnie the Pooh, classical artists Renee Fleming, Josh Bell and Itzhak Perlman), and studios (including DreamWorks Studio SKG, MGM, Marvel Entertainment, Paramount Pictures). In addition to litigating, she also handles entertainment transactional work for various clients, including acting as general counsel for the Estate of Bob Marley and for Rhonda Byrne, the author of one of the best-selling books of all time, The Secret. Ms. Eskenazi was named by Variety in its 2011 Women’s Impact Report and regularly appears on the Hollywood Reporter’s “Power Lawyers” list. Chambers & Partners’ has singled her out repeatedly as one of America’s leading lawyers in media and entertainment litigation. She was also named California Entertainment Lawyer of the Year in February 2010 by The Recorder and has been recognized repeatedly by the Los Angeles Daily Journal as one of “California’s Top Women Litigators.” Ms. Eskenazi is also a guest lecturer in Entertainment Law at Harvard Law School.
