Biography 

Thea Johnson joined Stanford Law School in 2012 as a Thomas C. Grey Fellow. Johnson’s research interests include comparative perspectives on criminal law with a focus on adversarial reform in Latin America. Her work also examines trends in domestic criminal justice, particularly in the area of prosecutorial ethics and drug policy. At Stanford, Johnson teaches Legal Research and Writing and Federal Litigation. 

Previously, Johnson was an attorney with the Criminal Defense Division of The Legal Aid Society in New York City, where she litigated criminal cases from arraignment to trial. She was previously a Simpson Thacher & Bartlett fellow with Legal Aid. Johnson graduated from The George Washington University Law School. During law school, she spent a semester working for Trial Chamber III at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda in Arusha, Tanzania. Johnson received a degree in History from Harvard College.
