Finding and Applying for Postdoctoral Fellowships: Overview of Resources and Procedures

Postdoc Brown Bag Lunch* Session

Presenters:

Debra Porzio, Postdoctoral Fellowships Manager, Research Management Group, School of Medicine
Annelies Ransome, Associate Director, Office of Postdoctoral Affairs
Crystal Botham, Director of Strategic Research Development, School of Medicine

REGISTER: TBA

The session will give an overview of the extensive resources that postdocs may search and find fellowships and funding opportunities, including NIH, NSF and other funding agencies and a description of the internal fellowship programs offered in the School of Medicine through the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs.

The Stanford Biosciences Grant Writing Academy and Biosciences Grant Writing Coaches Program will also be discussed.

The discussion will address the necessary steps any postdoc at Stanford must take in order to submit fellowship applications, obtain institutional sign-off, and accept funding.

This is a must-take session for new postdocs and is a good refresher for current postdocs.  By the end of the session, participants are expected to leave with all the pertinent information in order to find opportunities as well as successfully submit applications for funding during their postdoctoral training at Stanford.

*BBL means “brown bag lunch”; Please bring your own lunch.
