Many of our major energy sources are not renewable and will eventually run out. Finding novel ways to generate the energy we need, maximize its efficiency, and maintain our environment is critical for our future.
Face the challenge head on and develop groundbreaking ways of using materials and energy. This program includes advanced coursework in the molecular basis and engineering of new energy technologies. You will benefit from exploring the fundamentals, challenges and entrepreneurial opportunities at the intersection of chemistry and engineering.
You Will Learn
- Challenges and opportunities presented by energy supply and consumption
- Processes of heterogeneous catalysis as they relate to energy
- Applications for engineering soft materials in fuel cells
- Technologies used in microbial bioenergy and biofuels
- Practices of electrochemistry for renewable energy technologies
