Each week we're sending the third round of Economic Impact Payments to eligible individuals as we continue to process tax returns. If you haven't received a payment yet, it doesn't mean you won't. Payments are sent by direct deposit or mail as a check or debit card. We are mailing IRS Notice 1444-C to people who received a third Economic Impact Payment. Plus-Up Payments Plus-up payments are additional payments we are sending to people who: Already received a third Economic Impact Payment based on a 2019 tax return or information received from SSA, RRB or VA May be eligible for a larger amount based on their 2020 tax return We'll automatically evaluate your eligibility for a plus-up payment using your 2020 return. The IRS mailed these notices to your address of record. Didn't Get the First and Second Payments? Claim the 2020 Recovery Rebate Credit. If you didn't get a first and second Economic Impact Payment or got less than the full amount, you may be eligible to claim the 2020 Recovery Rebate Credit and must file a 2020 tax return, even if you aren't required to file. The third Economic Impact Payment will not be used to calculate the 2020 Recovery Rebate Credit.
