Your Art Here
The Your Art Here Program coordinates several student-run gallery spaces across Stanford campus, enabling members of the Stanford community to display their work. The program is run by a staff Oversight Board and a Student Committee, and gives students the opportunity to gain curatorial, installation, and gallery management experience. Students are responsible for planning, curating, and installing the exhibitions, and are given training opportunities with professionals in the field.
The Your Art Here Program is a joint effort supported by the Stanford Arts Institute, Stanford Dining, the Cantor Arts Center, the University Registrar, Wallenberg Hall, the Stanford Coffee House, Old Union, the Student Organizing Committee for the Arts (SOCA), the student Arts Grant Board, and the Hume Writing Center.
Art & Architecture Library
The Art & Architecture Library curates several exhibitions each year, highlighting text and archival materials from its Locked Stacks collection and Green Library's Special Collections. In addition, the Art & Architecture Library periodically features student work, often in conjunction with studio classes taught in the Department of Art & Art History.
Cantor Arts Center
The Cantor Arts Center has a tradition of hosting exhibitions organized by students and faculty. Exhibitions should derive from the Center's collection and/or other collections on campus and have a single, well-defined thesis. Preference is given to exhibition projects associated with a course, symposium, or academic program.
The Center invites faculty members, and students with faculty endorsement, to submit proposals for small exhibitions that bring fresh insights to objects in the collection and/or showcase visual aspects of research and scholarship in any field. As guest curators, faculty and/or students collaborate with Center staff to determine and realize a show's content, intent, installation, and related programs.
Student exhibitions are held in either the Lynn Krywick Gibbons Gallery or the Rowland K. Rebele Gallery. Learn more about how to apply on the Cantor Arts Center website.
Stanford Art Spaces
Stanford Art Spaces is an exhibition program serving several venues on campus with rotating shows on contemporary art. SAS began in 1985, concurrent with the building of the Paul G. Allen Building, which houses the Stanford Nanofabrication Facility.
