Career Counseling

Schedule an Appointment

  • To schedule 15, 30 & 45 minute appointments, available for CURRENT MATRICULATED STUDENTS and ALUMNI ONE YEAR OUT (alumni are eligible for counseling services through August 31 the year after they graduate), you'll need to register with the CDC or login to your existing Handshake account
  • Log-in to your Handshake account
  • Click the "Request a Counseling Appointment" link on the right side of the page
  • Select Student/Post Doc from the drop down menu under Type
  • Select 15, 30 or 45 from the drop down menu under Length
  • Click on the "Check Availability" button at the bottom of the page to see all availability of your assigned counselors over a two-week period
  • Be aware that the 30 and 45 minute appointments can be booked up to 2 1/2 weeks in advance during our peak times.  Remember, the short, 15 minute appointments are ideal for resume/cover letter critiques and quick questions, they are NOT appropriate for assessment interpretations.  The longer appointments are appropriate for more in-depth questions and to go over the results of the assessment instruments.
  • Meetups, casual get togethers to discuss topics of interest (i.e. resume, job search strategies, interviewing tips, etc.), are convenient alternatives to the more formal counseling appointments.  Check your Handshake account to see the schedule of meetups for your Career Community based team.
