Where to Stay
HOME Apartments
Each HOME unit has a fully equipped kitchen with a stove,
refrigerator, dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave and blender.
There are sheets, bedding, a TV and VCR in each one-bedroom apartment.
Laundry facilities are available. A telephone and private number will
be assigned to tenants, and the charges will be billed by the Stanford
Communications Office.
Occupancy in these units is limited to two people—a patient and a
caregiver. No pets are allowed.
The number of HOME apartments is limited and unfortunately cannot be
available for all patients and families that wish to reside there. Use
of the HOME is coordinated by the Department
of Social Work and Case Management at Stanford Health Care. All
applications are assessed and processed within this department,
including a thorough financial screening.
Hotels, Motels and Extended Stay
Hotels and Motels - A list of hotels and motels in the local
Stanford area. Stanford Health Care does not specifically endorse any
of the hotels listed. Please identify yourself as a Stanford patient
or guest in order to receive a POSSIBLE discount. No Stanford discount
is guaranteed. Hotels may also offer Senior or AAA members discounted
rates. All amenities listed are subject to change, so please
confirm the amenity before you book.
Community Home Program
Many patients undergo treatments at Stanford Health Care, requiring
them to reside in the area for an extended period of time. We
recognize the need to provide temporary housing options for patients
during this time when low cost housing options are limited. The
development of the Community Home Program was envisioned to help
alleviate this housing issue by placing out-of-town patients and their
families with volunteer hosts who live near Stanford.
Discount Motel Program
The
Department of Social Work and Case Management may be able to
provide additional resources for those patients and families with
special financial circumstances that prohibit them from securing
housing. Please be aware that the department receives far more
requests for assistance than there are resources available.
In order to be considered for a housing discount, a patient and/or
family must first be interviewed by a Stanford Hospital social worker.
This interview will include a financial screening.
