Approaching Stanford began for freshmen on May 13 and for new transfers on June 10 and is the process that will guide new students in their transition to Stanford this summer until their arrival for New Student Orientation in September. Students should refer to the Approaching Stanford website for a timeline, materials, and comprehensive information to help them prepare for Stanford.

Approaching Stanford for Parents & Families Online Platform
UPDATE: The Approaching Stanford for Parents and Families period is drawing to a close as we prepare to welcome you and your students to campus New Student Orientation! Thank you for making this summer pilot program such an amazing experience. This website has now closed. We are very interested to hear your thoughts about this platform, so you may be contacted by our team with a survey. Parent Q&A Sessions - Online "Office Hours"
We know parents often have many questions about certain topics such as health services, university bills, housing assignments, etc. While our website is a comprehensive resource with detailed information, university administrators from these offices will also answer your questions via online chats this summer. To join these "office hours," just log in to the online parent platform at the appointed time and begin posting your questions.

NSO Parent Dinner with the Provost
NSO Parent Dinner with the Provost Tickets
Parents of new undergraduate students are invited to join Provost John Etchemendy, Stanford's chief academic officer, for a casual dinner, dessert, entertainment, and conversation with other parents from 6:45 - 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at the Arrillaga Center for Sports and Recreation. The Provost will give the dinner address and Stanford Parents' Club hosts will be on hand to welcome you and answer questions.
Online ticket sales have closed. A limited number of Parent Dinner tickets will be available for purchase on a first come, first served basis at the Parent Lounge and Resource Center on September 15 from starting at 11:00 a.m.
