Staff

Research Associate; Human-Natural Systems: The Center for Ocean Solutions and Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment seek a senior-level Research Associate to advance our work on advancing research, knowledge and capacity of integrated human-natural systems and implementation of the social dimensions of ocean environments into ecosystem-based management approaches in ocean and coastal management.

Research Associate; Spatial Ecology and Analysis: The Center for Ocean Solutions and Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment seek a senior-level Research Associate to advance our work in on creating innovative conceptual approaches and analyses in support of projects in ocean planning, management of mobile organisms, and other management issues requiring a spatial analytical approach.

 

Fellowships

Early Career Fellow, Environmental DNA: The Postdoctoral Scholar / Early Career Fellow (ECF) will be responsible for leading the environmental DNA (eDNA) aspects of the Marine Biodiversity Observing Network (MBON) project at the Center for Ocean Solutions. 

Early Career Law and Policy Fellow:The Early Career Law & Policy Fellow will be responsible for applied legal research in a variety of subject areas including fisheries management and policy; international ocean law frameworks; and integrated coastal zone management. Specifically, the Fellow will engage with national, state, and local coastal planners to prioritize statewide strategies that reduce the vulnerability of coastal California resources to climate impacts. 

 

Internships

Summer 2016 Legal Internship: The Center for Ocean Solutions is seeking a summer 2016 legal intern. The legal intern will work primarily on research and writing projects within the Center's ecosystem health, climate change and land-sea interactions focal areas.  

Coastal GIS Intern: The Center for Ocean Solutions is seeking a Coastal GIS Intern to support coastal vulnerability modeling across the state of California using the InVEST tool from the Natural Capital Project. This part-time, six month internship will connect a Masters-level student or recent graduate with an excellent opportunity to work on applied, policy-relevant spatial data management and analysis.
