Neighborhood Associations in Sunnyvale

Neighborhood associations are a valuable asset to the Sunnyvale community.  They provide an excellent communication link between City staff and residents.  Associations are typically formed for one of two reasons - A) to address a problem/challenge with the help of other residents or B) to further a sense of community.  Regardless of the reason(s) for forming, the City is dedicated to helping neighborhood association leaders accomplish their goals.  If you are thinking about starting a neighborhood association, please let us know - we have resources to assist you in getting started.

Starting a Neighborhood Association

If you are interested in starting a neighborhood association, we first recommend you check the map above.  There may already be an association in your area for you to join.  If so, you may check with them about upcoming meetings or events, as well as opportunities to get involved as a volunteer.

If there isn't already a neighborhood association in your area, you may be thinking about starting one.  There are over two dozen neighborhood associations in Sunnyvale, each with its own set of goals and objectives.  You may want to chat with other neighborhood associations about the reasons they got started and what helped them in the beginning.  You may also choose to contact City staff, as they have some resources available to help you get started.  Below are some materials which provide information about starting a neighborhood association and registering with the City of Sunnyvale.
