Prospective Students

The Office of Career Service (OCS) educates students in career-planning skills and mastering job search strategies, provides employment information, and offers career-related resources and services. We facilitate mutually beneficial relationships between employers, faculty and staff, students and alumni in order to meet the dynamic needs of today's legal workplace.

Students interested in governmental and nonprofit employers should also contact the staff of the Levin Center for Public Service and Public Interest Law.

The career opportunities available to Stanford Law School students and alumni are practically limitless. SLS graduates are leaders in national law firms, public interest organizations, private industry, and all branches of government. We assist our students and graduates in identifying and achieving their career goals and provide individualized counseling services to each student. Our office also provides many resources essential to the success of the student job search:

  • informational panels and programs that provide students with opportunities to learn about different law practices, trends in the legal employment market, and non-law alternatives
  • the Fall On-Campus Interview Program (OCI) that brings over 300 employers representing approximately 600 offices nationwide to SLS to interview 2L and 3L students
