IMAP

Overview

IT Services supports IMAP ( Internet Message Access Protocol) email on the campus mail systems. Stanford community members can choose between POP and IMAP for their @stanford email. IMAP stores all your email on a central IT Services-managed server, giving you access to all your messages, old and new, at work, at home or anywhere a web browser is available (web access through the IMAP interface for Webmail). You can use IMAP with your current favorite email program,

IMAP (with some limitations and additional cost) supports shared accounts, which let multiple users access the email in a single mailbox, each using his or her own SUNet ID and password.

IMAP is available to faculty, students, and staff. To learn more, see Is IMAP right for me? (basic decision points) and Tell me details (to help you decide whether or not to use IMAP).
