Big Changes for Music in 2014-2015

July 31, 2014

Axess opens for enrollment on Friday, August 1.

Please take some time to look through your plan requirements using the new University Bulletin, updated for 2014-2015.  We've got some big changes happening in our department!  Our biggest change in this year's Bulletin is the addition of the CS+Music Joint Major Program.  This is a new program being offered for the first of six trial years.  If you have any questions, please feel free to email me... UG Student Services Officer, Rowen Leigh (rleigh@stanford.edu) or JMP Faculty Advisor, Ge Want (ge@ccrma.stanford.edu).  I've also posted some links below, which should be helpful as you look for classes to fill out your 2014-2015 course plan.

In other news, the Department is also debuting a ZERO UNIT ENROLLMENT option for lessons and ensembles.  Don't get too excited.  This option is primarily available to GRADUATE STUDENTS. Undergraduates will still be expected to enroll for 3 units and a letter grade, and will still need to petition VPUE for a unit extension if unable to enroll due to unit limits.  Please visit our ZERO UNIT ENROLLMENT page for specifics on how the program will work.  Now, all students are expected to enroll in either the for credit or zero unit section of each applied music course (ie lessons and ensembles).  No more auditing allowed!
