Vision, Mission, and Staff

Vision

To provide high quality computing-related training opportunities (classroom training, one-on-one training, online courses, and other delivery systems) that deliver timely, appropriate, technical training for faculty and staff in Schools, departments, and central offices.

Mission

As it implements its vision, University IT Technology Training Services is driven by the University's needs, and a fast-paced changing technological environment.

Technology Training Services:

  • Provides a broad range of technical and computer training
  • Maximizes overall performance by providing quality training for the effective use of computing resources in the workplace
  • Ensures that its services meet the needs of the University now and in the future by anticipating relevant trends
  • Introduces and modifies training program offerings in response to and in anticipation of changing technologies and campus needs

Staff

Liz Goesseringer, Manager

Don Cameron, Course and Marketing Coordinator — Don's responsibilities include coordinating class schedules with training vendors,  marketing classes, maintaining the group's client and internal web sites, collecting and reporting on group metrics, and producing Tech Briefing sessions. After studying Journalism in Prince Edward Island, Canada, Don made his way down to California where he got his start in the Stanford Library system. He's been working at Stanford for over 17 years. 

Christine Capper, Operations Lead— Christine oversees the daily operations within Technology Training Services. She also manages the Classes on Requests and Training by Appointment programs. Christine joined the team in 2011, bringing nearly 25 years of Stanford experience in program management,  community/public relations and conference planning.  She holds a B.S. degree in Hospitality Management and Business Administration from Cal Poly State University. When not playing at work, she enjoys playing with her three daughters.

Creed Raftery, Billing and Class Administrator— Creed performs administrative duties, and tracks the course offerings, attendance, and billing, working closely with each of our training vendors. He has worked in various departments at the university for over 12 years.

Candy Lowe, Assistant Class Administrator — Candy prepares classrooms for daily instruction and triaging problems. She also helps track student attendance, billing, and class evaluations.  Candy has worked in various IT groups at the University for 27 years.  She has a BA degree in Journalism from Northeastern University in Boston and writes science fiction.
