Biography
Raymond Levitt directs the Sustainable Built Environment research and outreach programs of the Woods Institute. His research and teaching focus on organization and governance challenges to the sustainability of global infrastructure projects and project-based companies. His current research explores how aspects of the construction industry's project-based structure and supply chain retard the adoption of complex green building technologies. In 2009, Levitt was appointed to the State of California's Private Infrastructure Advisory Commission. He serves as director of Stanford's Collaboratory for Research on Global Projects and academic director of the Stanford Advanced Project Management Executive Program. He co-founded and served as initial trustee of the New England Chapter of PMI. He was a co-founder and past director of Design Power Inc., VITE Corp. and Visual Network Design Inc. In 2008, he was elected a distinguished member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
