Stanford librarians disappointed with ruling in Google case

U.S. Circuit Judge Denny Chin ruled Tuesday that the deal made between Google and publishers "goes too far." But Stanford does not have to halt its project of digitizing the books in the university's libraries. "We are disappointed by the court's decision," said Stanford University Librarian Michael Keller, adding that the ruling leaves several issues unanswered.

New Nano Center supports research at the smallest scales

Stanford has significantly upgraded its nanotechnology research with a new Nano Center, providing faculty with some of the world's best nanoscale research facilities. The new center could pave the way for better solar cells, more efficient batteries and new tools to detect cancers.
