Acquisitions

The Cantor Arts Center fosters a sense of discovery through direct experiences with works of art. The continuing generosity of Stanford’s alumni and other donors has enabled the Center’s collection to grow significantly in the last decade. The strength of the collection, now including more than 28,000 objects, lies in its diversity. Major collections include European works on paper, post-war American art (especially from the Bay Area), photography, sculpture by Auguste Rodin, works from Asia and Africa, Native American art, and Stanford family memorabilia.

Lists of acquisitions by year may be accessed through Search Collections by entering the year in the search box and then clicking on the Search Entire Collection button. Further information is available to independent researchers and the general public by request.
