When those who normally drive alone for their commute are asked why they don’t choose sustainable transportation, there are a couple of reasons commonly cited. What these commuters may not realize is that Parking & Transportation Services has answers to address these concerns.
“I need my car for business or personal errands while I’m at work.”
Stanford has a number of options to enable residents and commuters to leave their cars at home or go “car free.”
“I need to get home in an emergency.”
If you have questions or would like more information about resources for those who use sustainable transportation or are considering going car free at Stanford, contact us at commuteclub@stanford.edu.
As a reminder, whenever possible, all Stanford affiliates are encouraged to avoid departing campus during the peak commute times, which include departures from campus between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. If you plan events, try to avoid having attendees depart campus during the afternoon peak.
