Leveraging Stanford's decades-long history of educating innovators in Silicon Valley, Stanford Seed is now bringing this innovative mindset and practical business training to entrepreneurs in Africa—and soon to additional geographies around the world.

Program Overview

The Stanford Seed Transformation Program (STP) forms one of three critical components in Seed's strategy to end the cycle of poverty and is specifically intended for CEOs who lead and want to grow established businesses in developing economies.

Growing and innovative enterprises benefit the regions in which they operate not only through job creation for themselves and their vendors, but also by offering innovative products and services that benefit the poor directly.

Benefits of Seed's Transformation Program

  • The Stanford Seed Transformation Program features a Stanford faculty-led curriculum addressing the needs of CEOs in developing economies who lead growing enterprises.
  • During the six-month program, CEOs actively participate in leadership training, and attend highly interactive sessions on entrepreneurial organizations, strategy, accounting, finance/investing, marketing, value chain innovations, and product and service innovations.
  • Bringing together companies from different industries and countries enriches participant's learning experience and forms the nucleus for regional networks.
  • Additional STP benefits include networking opportunities, peer support, coaching by experienced volunteers, ability to host interns, guest speakers, and participation in highly-focused workshops led by Stanford students.
  • Former STP participants continue to stay engaged with Stanford Seed and become part of the peer network, often presenting the experiences of their journeys to incoming cohorts.
