Exploring the Tidepools: Docent-Led Tour at Fitzgerald Marine Reserve

Important details: Limited to 30 people total. Children age 9 and up are welcome. No children under 9 are allowed on the tour. No dogs are allowed at the Reserve.

About our tidepool tour: Two Stanford scientists who serve as Reserve docents will lead our 2-hour tour.

It’s a short walk from the parking lot to the beach and tidepools. We will walk on sand and rocks, including wet rocks, so please wear appropriate shoes or boots. Recommended: good walking shoes, dressing in layers, a hat, water, sunscreen, and camera.

Directions/Parking: Fitzgerald Marine Reserve is at 200 Nevada Ave., Moss Beach, CA, about 10 minutes north of Half Moon Bay. From Highway 1, turn west onto California Avenue in Moss Beach. Drive to the end of the road, park in the lot, and meet at 2 pm sharp at the Visitors’ Center next to the parking lot.

Parking is limited at the Reserve, so tour participants are encouraged to carpool.
