OurCrowd - Originally facilitating investment in Israeli startups, OurCrowd has pioneered and currently dominates the crowd financing industry. They screen and select promising companies, conduct extensive due diligence, offer complete information on their Website to facilitate equity investment, take an active role in mentoring management and monitoring their investments and co-invest with their own fund in each company offered through their online platform.

SmartDetect - SmartDetect harnesses infrared technology for real-time, advanced mobile detection of chemicals, allergens, and toxins on smart devices.

E-Fuel Technologies - The Company has developed an innovation that dramatically increases fuel efficiency.

Barkly - Barkly is creating an online marketplace where dog owners can book scheduled or on-demand dog walks, track via GPS, and pay walkers seamlessly via smartphone application.


About CAAG

The Collaborative Alumni Angel Group (CAAG) is a cooperative "shark tank" consisting of leading business school alumni in the Washington/Baltimore area.  We team to identify promising ventures, invite the most interesting to present at our monthly pitch meetings, share perspective on the opportunities and their proposed markets, conduct due diligence, collaboratively negotiate terms and set up special purpose corporations for co-investing with greater leverage.  

At each meeting, three to six companies present for ten minutes and field questions for ten minutes. After the presentations, we ask the companies to step out and privately discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each.  We then invite the candidates back to address additional questions.

For those companies that the members are most interested in learning more with the view to possibly investing, we form task forces to participate in follow on teleconferences and more in-depth presentations. The task forces also share due diligence analysis on the prospects. If the team members are still interested, we jointly negotiate a term sheet and opportunities for continuing involvement in guiding the success of the venture as active rather than passive investors. Our ongoing roles might include, for instance, CEO mentor, operating advisor, referrer of needed executives and door opener for strategic alliances.
