Be a Stanford student while in high school!

Stanford offers two programs to give students the opportunity to take a broad offering of courses not offered in secondary schools and puts them in control of their educational experience.

Summer College Academy

Earn continuing studies credit both on campus and online!

Summer College Academy is an innovative approach to university-level coursework. Exceptional high school students will have the opportunity to take one of a number of intensive undergraduate-level courses, three to four weeks of which will be in Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies’ signature online synchronous seminar environment, followed by three weeks of coursework in residence on Stanford’s campus—all while earning Stanford University Continuing Studies credit and a Continuing Studies transcript.

High School Summer College

Be a Stanford student this summer!

Stanford’s High School Summer College is an academically selective program that provides high-achieving high school students access to undergraduate education at one of America’s most respected universities. The program runs eight weeks and provides academic, social, and intellectual opportunities not found in a high school classroom. Participants enroll as visiting undergraduate students in Stanford’s Summer Quarter and take the same courses as Stanford undergraduates. Summer College students interact with peers from across the United States, and around the world, and may participate in a full array of unique co-curricular and recreational activities available on campus and in the culturally rich San Francisco Bay Area.

University-Level Online Math & Physics

Continue your intellectual passions—online!

Stanford Pre-Collegiate University-Level Online Math & Physics courses bring motivated and academically-talented high school students together to allow them to explore their intellectual passions, develop analytic reasoning and creative thinking, and study directly with expert instructors. These online courses are offered throughout the year and give students the opportunity to take a broad offering of math and physics courses not typically offered in secondary schools. Courses in the University-Level Online Math & Physics programs are largely self-paced. Expert instructors are available for optional office hours to meet with students online and offer assistance as they progress through the course material. All courses carry Stanford University Continuing Studies credit, and students earn a Stanford Continuing Studies transcript.
