About Us

Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies advances the education of academically talented, intellectually curious, pre-college students.  We offer a variety of programs designed to meet the needs of top students everywhere, ranging from an Online High School, to residential summer programs that let you become a Stanford University student for the summer or that let you dive deeply into your passions, to classes offered online and in-person throughout the year.

Our students are adventurous, highly motivated, and passionate in their desire to come together and deepen their learning.  While exploring new subjects and making friendships to last a lifetime, they will gain new insights into themselves and what really motivates them. With participation from every state and over 60 countries, our programs draw from the best and the brightest around the world.

Our instructors are expert in their fields and committed to sharing their love and interest in their subject with students who remind them of themselves. Their enthusiasm is infectious; their teaching is transformational.

This combination of programs, students, and instructors is what makes the magic. And it all happens here at Stanford University, in the heart of the most innovative region in the world.

Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies fosters the development of tomorrow’s undergraduates through programs that enrich the educational experience of pre-college students. Inaugurated by the Provost in 2012 under the banner of Continuing Studies, Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies serves as a home for Stanford’s pre-collegiate efforts, assisting individual programs to achieve their objectives while promoting common goals across the University.

Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies invites proposals for new initiatives and seeks opportunities to advance pre-collegiate programs already in place. Incorporating the evolution of Stanford’s Education Program for Gifted Youth (EPGY), Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies delivers programs both on campus and online.

Continuing Studies demonstrates Stanford’s recognition that the university’s role in a student’s education need not end with college graduation; Pre-Collegiate Studies shows that it need not wait until matriculation.
