Blood gas testing

We recently implemented new blood gas analyzers at the Stanford University Medical Center . The Radiometer ABL800 allows us to assay several specimens simultaneously and perform quality control automatically at predetermined intervals.

We are planning to use these new instruments to streamline our rapid blood gas testing using Radiometer's arterial syringes, which are pre-barcoded and include an integrated mixing device, a ventilated tip cap (to automatically remove air bubbles), and a needle shield to allow for safe needle removal without risk of needle injury.
