Every fall since 1988 the Department of Anesthesia releases the Stanford Anesthesia News -- a publication intended for our alumni and friends which promotes the Department's activities in research, education, and patient care. The depth and breadth of the pieces has flourished over the years reflecting the department's growth.
Although a goal might be to include everything that happened in one year, that is difficult to do given the large size of the department. Instead, we chose the more manageable task of highlighting certain people and events.

The Gas Pipeline
The Gas Pipeline is the Department of Anesthesia's quarterly newsletter for its alumni, faculty, residents, fellows, researchers, and staff. Regular columnists include Ron Pearl, MD, PhD, Chairman; Rick Novak, MD, Deputy Chief; and Alex Macario, MD, MBA, Director of the Residency Program. Recurring features include Faculty Corner, Residents and Attendings of the Month, Upcoming Events, and Personal Milestones, such as marriages, births, etc. Members of The Gas Pipeline's audiences are encouraged to communicate with the editor, Maureen Donohue, , to suggest story ideas and to share news.
