What information is in the database?
The Stanford Cancer Institute Research Database has a rich set of data which integrates many resources including: EPIC, STRIDE, specialized databases in surgical pathology and radiation oncology, the Stanford Cancer Registry, and the Social Security Death Index (SSDI).Where can I learn more about the database?

How do I get access?
Please submit the Stanford Cancer Institute Research database help request form (http://med.stanford.edu/biostatistics/sccrdb/data-request.html) and we will contact you to schedule an appointment to discuss your request within two business days after receiving the online form.Can the database be used to identify a set of patients?
Yes. We can help you build a cohort using diagnoses, ICD-9 or ICD-0 codes or CPT billing codes. We can also help you do complex searches involving dictations and other notes, and we can identify which people have tissue stored in the Stanford Tissue bank.Do you provide tools to help curate existing data and add new data?
We provide extensive tools for browsing and searching existing data, and we can integrate a cohort’s data with tools like REDCap to facilitate the curating of existing data or to help in the adding of study specific information.What will slow down your request?
Before we can release data:- Your project must have a PI who is a member of the Stanford Cancer Institute
- Your project needs to be approved by the Stanford IRB
- All people who need access to the data must be listed on the approved IRB (often this requires an addendum)
- All people who look at the data must have completed Stanford HIPAA training
- The Stanford Cancer Institute Research Database Steering Committee must approve the project (typically a two week wait)
