Stanford earns top marks on annual 'green' report card

With an overall "A-" on the College Sustainability Report Card, Stanford has once again taken top honors in the annual evaluation of campus sustainability activities. The survey considers such sustainability indicators as food and recycling, green building and student involvement.

Chile's once-fledgling salmon aquaculture industry is now the second largest in the world. But that massive economic growth has had equally massive environmental and social effects, researchers at the Woods Institute say.

Test of outdoor siren warning system scheduled for Oct. 15

During the 60-second test, people on campus and some nearby residents will hear a warning tone followed by a verbal message. This is the second test of the system since its installation. The first test was conducted Aug. 7.
