Beyond the Ordinary

“Online learning” ordinarily conjures images of students sitting at computers watching lectures and emailing homework assignments to the teacher.

We are not an ordinary school. To begin with, our students see and are seen by classmates and teachers in real time. They discuss, debate, think aloud, question, comment, respond, and actively listen together in the same (virtual) space at the same time. They do so with instructors who are passionate about their subjects and about conveying that passion to others. That’s one of many reasons why our students, instructors, staff, and parents form a close-knit, vibrant community.  And our students have options. Thanks to our college-style schedule and enrollment, they can come full-time, part-time, or take the one course here that they can’t access anywhere else. All the while, they can pursue interests outside the classroom.
