Highlights

Albert Tsai, MD, PhD, Instructor in Pathology, a recent graduate of our anatomic and clinical pathology residency program and hematopathology fellowship program, is a 2016 recipient of a Damon Runyon Fellowship Award. The Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation provides young scientists with funding to pursue innovative research into how we diagnose, treat and prevent cancer. Dr. Tsai's research project, entitled "Diagnosis of hematologic malignancies from paucicellular aspirate material using highly multiplexed single cell analysis" is supervised and mentored by Sean Bendall, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Pathology.

All pathology residents and clinical fellows will annually receive a taxable housing allowance in the amount of $10,000 from Department of Pathology funds. Residents will receive the first part of the pathology housing allowance in their August paychecks and the second part of the pathology housing allowance in their February paychecks. In addition, the Stanford Hospital has recently implemented an annual $6,000 per year housing allowance.
