1. How do I apply to the Stanford Plastic Surgery Residency training program?

Please apply through the ERAS application service at: http://www.aamc.org/eras. The Stanford Residency Training Program application deadline is October 1st.

2. How many positions does your program have available each year?

There are three (3) positions available each year at the PGY-1 level. The PGY-2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 residents automatically advance to the next level of training once they match to the Stanford Plastic Surgery Residency Training Program.

3. Are there any vacancies at the PGY-2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 levels?

Generally, there are no vacancies in the program except at the Intern level each year. If you would like for your application material to be kept on file (in the event of a sudden vacancy in the program), we request that you write a letter of interest to the program director. Your letter will be kept on file for future reference in the event the program does have a sudden opening. 4. Are clerkships/clinical rotations required or mandatory to be a competitive applicant?

Clerkships/clinical rotations are not required or mandatory to be a competitive applicant to the plastic surgery residency-training program. Each year individuals from both categories (formal interviewees or individuals completing formal clerkship/clinical rotations) are equally ranked and accepted into our program.

5. How do I apply for a clerkship/clinical rotation for plastic surgery at Stanford?

9. What type of Fellowships does your program offer?

Currently we offer a craniofacial fellowship program. Candidates for the fellowship program must have completed plastic surgery training in an approved program in the United States or have had comparable training and experience in a foreign hospital.
