Stanford Association For International Development

Stanford Association for International Development (SAID) is a student-run organization with a mission of promoting awareness of international development on campus and in the surrounding community. SAID partners annually with Stanford’s Center on Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law (CDDRL) to put on our conference. CDDRL is a leading center of thought, research and teaching in international development, and frequently organizes academic and policy forums to increase the public understanding of economic and political development. This spring, SAID and CDDRL will host a conference at Stanford University on the topic of forced migration.

Session 1: Asylum Access 1:15 PM

Asylum Access is an innovative international nonprofit dedicated to making refugee rights a reality. Asylum Access empowers refugees in Africa, Asia and Latin America to live safely, work, send children to school and rebuild their lives. Asylum Access’s mission is to make refugee rights a reality in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Session 2: Ennead Architects 2:45PM

Ennead Architects LLP is a New York City-based architectural firm. In collaboration with the UNHCR and Stanford, Ennead Lab has been working to develop a tool kit to support an integrated process of contingency planning, emergency and sustainable settlement planning, post-settlement impact planning for host communities, and an umbrella of measurement and verification data as a resource to all UNHCR stakeholders.

Career Fair

The annual SAID International Development Career Fair will happen from 12 – 1 p.m. on the day of the conference. Network with organizations like Universal Giving, Foundation for Sustainable Development, and Freedom House. You do not need to attend the full conference to attend the career fair.
