SCID hosts researchers from universities, independent research organizations, and government bodies working on topics related to Chinese economic policies. Researchers have access to state-of-the-art facilities at the John A. and Cynthia Fry Gunn building and a vibrant, collegial, economics research community.
Visiting researchers are also welcome to attend SIEPR events, including academic seminars and conferences on a wide range of topics in all subfields of economics, a weekly lunch which brings together over 100 economists from around the university, and monthly Associates Meetings that bring together academic, policy, and business leaders to speak about timely policy issues.
The SCID China Program has historically hosted a number of visiting researchers, who have come to Stanford from a number of Chinese academic institutions and think tanks, including Tsinghua University, Renmin University, Peking University, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Chinese Securities Regulatory Commission, and the People’s Bank of China. The China Program has also organized exchanges that bring researchers from China’s Ministries of Finance and Commerce.
