Diversity

Much of the vitality of working at Stanford comes from diversity: people of all ages, races and interests; people from nearly every culture and corner of the world; people with differing backgrounds, goals and pursuits, working together in a community of cooperation and collegiality.

Stanford is committed to maintaining a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff, and that diversity offers Stanford an opportunity to realize excellence. A diverse and inclusive community offers different perspectives, experiences, and cultures that enrich the educational and work experience.

Diversity at Stanford takes on many forms, including through the campus activities of more than 650 student groups and organizations, some 40 religious organizations, and numerous staff diversity groups. There is truly something for everyone – both during and after working hours.
