Resilience: How to Bounce Back

Resilience is the ability to bounce back in the face of life’s challenges. For Stanford graduate students, these challenges come in a variety of forms ranging from the pile-on of academic and administrative work, to tough relationship dynamics with professors, colleagues, or loved ones, to battling illness or fatigue, among many other tough events. In this workshop students gain key insights and skills from the emerging field of resilience research so they bounce back more quickly and effectively from life’s setbacks. Through an engaging mix of lecture, experiential exercises, and peer interaction, students learn the cognitive, emotional, and social aspects necessary for rising above life adversity and thriving. Topics include self-compassion, expectation management, meditation, deep meaning making, cognitive reframing, and stress management.

This Resilience workshop is adapted specifically for graduate students from Stanford's Wellness Ed curriculum.

If you are not able to commit to this multi-session workshop, consider attending Aneel's wellness teasers or another Quick Bytes noon workshop. Also check out the Wellness Network to find other campus resources to support your health and well-being.
