Bio
I am the Social and Behavioral Sciences IRB Manager at Stanford. Before coming to Stanford, I taught sociology at the community college level for seven years. While I was a faculty member at Central New Mexico Community College, I served as an IRB member for two years, including one year as IRB Chair. I have a Master’s Degree in Sociology from the New School for Social Research, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Michigan State University.
Current Role at Stanford
In my role as Social and Behavioral IRB Manager, I coordinate the IRB review process for all Human Subjects Research that is conducted anywhere in the University outside of the School of Medicine. I serve as the liaison between researchers and the IRB, and I am the primary IRB contact for researchers planning to conduct Human Subjects Research at Stanford.
I also give regular presentations to various groups on campus about the role of the IRB and Human Subjects Research ethics more generally. Please contact me if you are interested in inviting me to give a presentation to your class or other group.
