AUSTIN, Texas – Stanford's men's swimming and diving team kicked off the Texas Hall of Fame Invitational with a fourth-place finish in the 800-yard free relay on Wednesday night.
"Tonight's result was a little different from the start we had last year, but that can be attributed to our much more demanding training cycle this fall," said Goldman Family Director of Men's Swimming
Ted Knapp. "I am confident we are going to get better every day as the meet goes on."
Grant Shoults,
William Macmillan,
James Murphy and
Liam Egan (6:19.93) represented Stanford in the 800 free relay, the only event of the night.
The meet continues tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. PT with preliminary swims in the 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard individual medley and 50-yard freestyle. The finals session, starting at 4 p.m., includes the 200-yard freestyle relay, the 500 free finals, 200 IM finals, 50 free finals and the 400-yard medley relay. Live results will be available at GoStanford.com.
