Mozambique
Human rights violations have increased amid political tensions and armed clashes between the government and the former rebel group, now political party, Mozambican National Resistance (RENAMO). The disclosure of the government’s enormous foreign debt has led donors to suspend aid, affecting many people’s access to basic goods and services.
