At least 135 people have been killed in Hama since the military assault began Sunday. Residents fear that number may be higher.
Nighttime footage out of Homs shows a demonstration from Thursday night. People run for cover after what appears to be a tear gas canister is thrown in the streets.
Washington says that some 2,000 people have been killed in Syria since March when popular uprisings against President Bashar-al Assad began.
Syrian authorities have expelled most independent media making it difficult to verify witness accounts and official statements.
