    Cutter Aspen departed the Bay Area for the last time, en route to the Coast Guard Yard in Baltimore for a major maintenance and overhaul. The buoy tender has been stationed at Yerba Buena Island since 2001. Cutter Alder will take its place in next year.

    It's that time of year again! Cutter Mackinaw received their 22nd annual shipment of 1,200 trees for the Chicago Christmas Ship event. They carry on the tradition of the schooner Rouse Simmons, which sank in 1912 with a cargo-hold full of trees for the citizens of Chicago.
