Landlocked Botswana is located at the center of Southern Africa, a strategically positioned bridge between South Africa, Namibia, Angola, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. It has a relatively small population of a little more than 2 million people. One of the world’s poorest countries at independence in 1966, afterwards it rapidly became one of the world’s development success stories.
