Asti Asokawati

GIS Analyst

Bio

Asti is the GIS Analyst for WRI Indonesia, Riau One Map Initiative is her initial project in WRI. She’s responsible to collect, process, build spatial data inventory, and analyze the data.

Before joining WRI, most of her works related to participatory mapping for humanitarian and disaster management purposes. Asti was the member of Spatial Data Entry Team for “Jakarta RT Mapping” a joint project between HOT OSM Indonesia, BPBD (Provincial Agency on Disaster Management) Jakarta, World Bank, and AIFDR (Australia Indonesia Facilities on Disaster Reduction) to make flood evacuation maps for 35 villages in Jakarta. Other than that, she also worked in several consultants as a GIS Officer.

Asti holds a B.Sc. title majoring Geography from Faculty of Mathematic and Natural Science, Universitas Indonesia.

Being raised and live in a small village makes Asti an outdoor activities enthusiast by growing plants, playing with her pets at the backyard, and listening to music.
