Karla Renschler

Product Marketing Specialist, Global Forest Watch

Bio

Karla is the Product Marketing Specialist for Global Forest Watch in the Forests Program, where she leads outreach campaigns to drive users to the platform. Karla also designs training materials and new features to improve the accessibility of Global Forest Watch.

Prior to joining Global Forest Watch, Karla worked as the Communications Liaison for WRI’s Finance Center, where she developed strategies to improve internal and external communications. She also previously worked as a research assistant for the UCLA Institute of the Environment and Sustainability, and interned for the UCLA Burkle Center for International Relations.

Karla graduated summa cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles with a B.A. in Global Studies and Political Science and a minor in Geography and Environmental Studies. For her senior honors thesis, Karla conducted research on polarization between OECD and developing nations around international climate negotiations.

Karla is originally from Aachen, Germany, but grew up in sunny San Diego, CA. She loves being outdoors, drinking coffee, listening to NPR, brunching, and hanging out with her cat.
